The Town Council has service responsibility for the following:

Civic Hall

The Civic Hall consists of a bar/lounge, restaurant and main hall. The bar/lounge and restaurant are open every evening and Sunday lunchtime for the provision of freshly cooked meals at competitive prices. The main hall is available for hire for formal functions such as wedding receptions etc and for community use e.g. pantomime productions etc. For further details see the Civic Hall section of this site. Parks and open spaces

Full grounds maintenance service on all parks and open spaces owned by the Town Council.

Hackworth Park

Full grounds maintenance service, provision of 3 play areas, skatepark, bowling green, 2 tennis courts, football pitch and Rest House community building.

Cemeteries

West Road cemetery and maintenance of St.Johns and All Saints closed churchyards.

Allotments

Provision of 11 allotment sites throughout the town including 2 community gardens.

Public toilets

Operation of 3 public toilets at Hackworth Park, Cheapside and Furnace Pit.

Bus shelters

Provision of 25 bus shelters.
