Shildon Town Council has published a report revealing insight from a consultation survey of Shildon residents views on the future of secondary education in Shildon. Ninety percent of the adult respondents, the great majority of whom were parents of primary or secondary school children, indicated that they wanted to see a new high quality school facility built in Shildon and over ninety three percent of all respondents supported the Town Council’s aspirational statement. Parents indicated a strong preference to send their children to a school in Shildon if current facilities were to be replaced with a new building.
