Shildon Town Council are happy to announce the winners of their inaugural ‘Shildon Blooming Best Garden Competition Winner 2021’. It is my absolute pleasure to be writing this press article today as we disclose to the town who are winners are.
As you might imagine we have had a great variety of entrants from across all the categories, from small and perfectly formed to larger more formal gardens, it has been lovely to see the care and attention all our green finger residents lavish upon their beloved green haven. Congratulations to all the winners, for your inspiring entries, the ongoing attention, care, and endless love shown to your green spaces and shared with us- Thank you all.
Shildon Town Council would also like to thank Cllr. Dave Reynolds for his wonderful idea to hold the Shildon Blooming Best Garden Competition, at a time when we all needed something, other than Covid-19 to focus on.
He has personally sponsored the final award of the competition, the Overall Blooming Best Shildon Garden winner, and this year the bragging rights will go to Mr Ken Holdsworth for sharing with us his beautiful, wildlife friendly front garden, which has several areas, all beautifully maintained, interesting plants and shrubs, a good use of hard landscaping, all coming together to create a calm and contemplative space where you could imagine, sitting down with a cuppa, watching the bees and insects buzzing around, whilst surround by the beautiful planting. A credit to your horticultural skills.
Well done, and keep on growing and gardening.
