Shildon Town Council are excited to bring the beach to Shildon, with support and funding from Cllr Shirley Quinn, Cllr Samantha Townsend and Cllr Matt Johnson (Bishop Auckland and Shildon Area Action Partnership Neighbourhood budget)
The Hackworth Park Tennis Courts will be transformed into a Giant Sandpit, complete with a limited amount of deck chairs, buckets, spades, and beach balls.
Come on down with the children, the sandpit will be open to the public from Thursday 3rd August from 11.30am.
With thanks to sponsors Shildon Alive, The Original Factory Shop and PPG Industries, we will be providing 150 ice creams free to children on a first come first served basis together with fun activities and free face painting (12 noon-3pm) on the day.
Please note that once ice creams have been served to children, any further ice creams will have to be purchased by individuals.
** At busy times, we will only be permitting a limited number of people onto the sandpit **
