Homestay South East Drop-In Service every Wednesday 10am – 12pm at Shildon Alive

The Homestay group are offering a drop-in service every Wednesday 10am – 12pm at Shildon Alive to discuss support with housing, landlord issues, debts, support with benefits just in case we have anyone in the office, and it is a week when Citizens Advice are not here as they only offer a fortnightly session.

The Mayor’s first, Egg-Cellent Easter Adventure in Hackworth Park, Shildon – Wednesday 20th April 1.00pm – 3.00pm

Shildon Town Council Mayor, Cllr Louise Mather invites you to attend the very first Egg-Cellent Adventure in Hackworth Park, Shildon 🐥🐣
Bring the children for a free, fun filled time to take part in an Easter Adventure hunt around Hackworth Park and if you are lucky you may see some special guests!!
Find the clues and each child participating will receive a prize.
Wristbands are free but are limited to a first come basis from the Town Council Offices. Only children taking part will require one, please note that we will require proof of address when collecting the wristband.
Maximum four children per household, event is aimed at Preschool and Primary school aged children.

Queens Canopy Tree Planting Day – Friday 11th March 2022

Image of the Queens Jubilee Emblem As part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Shildon Town Council will be  marking the occasion with a tree planted as part of  ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy Project’.

Shildon Town Council decided they wished to represent the strength and resilience of our Queen and have chosen a  British native Green Oak tree, which is very long lived, strong and supports a huge array of life and is our most iconic trees.

Shildon Town Mayor, Councillor  Louise Mather planted the young Green Oak (Quercus robur) Tree today Friday 11th March  at 11.00 am,  to mark the Queens’ accession. The tree will now  be added to the interactive map which will identify all trees planted under the Queens Canopy project,  which  marks The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  The day chosen is the seventieth day of the year in which The Queen marks the seventieth anniversary of her accession.

Accounts and Payroll Assistant 

SCP 11  £21,748  (Pay Award Pending) pro-rata

20 hours

We are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts and Payroll Assistant. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting and Payroll Systems and provide accurate financial information for the efficient and effective running of the Council.  The appointment is for 20 hours per week  – Monday – Wednesday.
