Councillor Shirley Quinn
My name is Councillor Shirley Quinn and I have had the honour to serve on Shildon Town Council for the last ten years. I was elected Town Mayor in 2017 and represented the town around the county and fund raised for local causes. I am a Shildon lass living in both New Shildon and the Jubilee Estate. My family have also settled in the town and continue to support the good work.
This year I will continue the excellent network around the county that all the former Mayors have done.
My focus is to continue to promote Shildon and the people in it. I want to continue to support Shildon’s three primary schools, our care homes and be involved in as many community-based projects as I can. I also want to work with young people and inspire them to be the best they can.
I am an advocate for Well-being for life, Dementia Awareness and Stamp it Out (Mental Health Stigma) and of course the Town Team, who I will continue to support to bring Pride back to our Town.
There are lots of events to celebrate this year, and I will be on hand to promote, and support, where I can.
