Shildon Town Council hosted the first Community Christmas Lunch on 9th December at

Shildon Civic Hall with thanks to funding from previous Mayor, Cllr Shirley Quinn’s mayors appeal, Livin, Cleveland Cable Company Ltd and Jake Pearson from Shildon AFC.

The partnership work has helped to provide a hot festive lunch to everyone who attended.

Pupils from Thornhill Primary School entertained everyone with their beautiful singing – they really made it feel like Christmas. Year 6 pupils kindly made handmade thoughtful greetings cards for every guest to take home with their Christmas gifts.

All those who attended left with a complimentary goody bag, thanks to donations received from Quinn’s Retreat, Sainsburys, Tesco, Smith Roddam Solicitors, Groundworks, Wellbeing for Life, Durham’s Move team and Forget Me Not Flower Designers.

Appreciation to Town Mayor, Cllr David Bell for supporting the event on the day.
