Shildon Hackworth Park

Shildon Town Council is planning to develop the 11+ Play Park and would like to hear from you.

The Council are committed to improving parks and open spaces in Shildon’s Hackworth Park to provide better facilities for those using them, especially young people. Unfortunately, the current play area is looking tired with age, wear and tear starting to show.

To address this, the Council are applying for funding to help pay for improvements to the park. A key priority the Council looking at is replacing the zipwire, and we have already begun the process of engaging with specialist play equipment companies to explore options for new and exciting replacement.

Your views are important to us and our Community Development Worker has been out speaking with young people via School visits and groups to get their views. However, the Council would like more ideas and feedback to help shape the future of the park and make it a space young people can enjoy for years to come.

Please find attached below a link to a survey, it will only take 2 minutes of your time to complete and send us any feedback.
